Tehachapi artist and business owner, Karen Lewis, who has crafted original polymer clay beads for 35 years, sells her beads all over the world. She also has pieces in several collections, including in the Mengei International Museum located at Balboa Park in San Diego, California.

Twenty three years ago, Karen and her husband Carl opened The Spirited Bead & Klew's Gallery in Tehachapi on Mother's Day in 1999. As a thank you to customers and to celebrate their 23 great years they will be offering a 23% discount in store from May 6-9, 2022.

The bead store began in one small room and has expanded over the years to four. The Spirited Bead & Klew's Gallery offers finished and personalized jewelry, bracelets, earrings, key chains, necklaces and unique gift items for women and men (such as money clips). They also offer adult classes and have supplies for everyone's jewelry needs.

Thinking of her longtime customers, Karen chuckles, "Now the children who once came into the store in strollers are coming back and saying that now they can touch the beads without their moms telling them 'don't touch!'"

Located at 435 W. J St., Tehachapi, The Spirited Bead & Klew's Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They can be reached at (661) 823-1930 or visited online at http://www.klewexpressions.com.
