What's Up in Stallion Springs?

Breakfast is served.

The Stallion Springs CERT Team held a Roundup and Appreciation Pancake Breakfast on April 23 in the Corral Room at the Community Center. The event was hosted by SSCERT and food was provided by community donors.  

All CERT members and their families, as well as prospective SSCERT members, were invited. Everyone enjoyed the great breakfast provided by: P-Dubs, Papa's House Pizza and Evian's Stallion Springs General Store. Scheduled upcoming SSCERT community deployment events include SSCSD Color Run on May 14; SSCERT Basic Course in mid-May (date TBD); Cummings Valley School 5K Run on June 3; and Cheers to Charity on August 13.

Color Run

Sign up at the CSD for the Color Run on May 14. Sign in begins at 8:30 a.m. with the race starting at 9:15 a.m. The cost is $25 per person for adults and $10 for kids under 12. The cost includes sunglasses, bandana, water bottle and loads of fun.

Come dressed in all white and leave looking very colorful. Come join in the fun. NO DOGS ALLOWED. Some sponsorship and volunteers positions for the event are still available. Email Stallionparksandrec@gmail.com for more information.

Stallion Springs CSD is currently seeking a Certified Water Distribution Operator I. For more information, please visit our website at stallionspringscsd.com.

Stallion Springs Parks and Recreation is still looking for Seasonal Certified Lifeguards. You must have Red Cross Lifeguard certificate. Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in Lifeguarding that includes First Aid, professional-level CPR and AED in one certificate. Digital certificates available upon successful completion of the course. Prerequisites: All students MUST complete the online Lifeguard Pre-Assessment prior to in person class. Proof of Pre-Assessment completion required to attend class, which includes a 300-yard swim test, 10-pound brick test and the ability to tread water without hands for two minutes. Police Report

Chief Gary Crowell filed a report of statistics for March 2022. The Department had 15 arrests, issued 10 citations, had 116 reports, 102 calls for service, completed 29 officer initiated investigations, 37 field interviews and three medical assists. There were nine vacation house checks Two vehicles were impounded and the department assisted other enforcement agencies 10 times.

If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911 and specify to the dispatcher that you live in Stallion Springs. The Stallion Springs Police Department is dispatched through the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

Reminder

It's time to work on weed abatement and make defensible space around your home, deadline is June 1.

Stallion Springs Board of Directors

The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the CSD Boardroom. The next meeting is scheduled for May 17.
