The Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District will be replacing the concrete of their deteriorating West Park outdoor basketball court this year. At the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District board meeting on April 19, the board approved $72,560 for the project.

The project will be financed by a site lease loan the district received in 2016 to be used for capital improvements. To date, this loan has assisted with the rehabilitation of the roof of the Dye Natatorium, the completion of the gym floor at the Aspen Builders Inc. Activity Center, new playgrounds for Central Park and Brite Lake and for the automatic payment gate at Brite Lake.

The project has been assigned to Eaton & Sons, Inc. of Tehachapi.
