If you haven’t heard, Karl’s Hardware is coming to Tehachapi! We are in the process of purchasing Pioneer True Value and will be ready to open sometime this spring. We are very excited to be a part of Tehachapi and surrounding communities.
A little background on us: Karl’s Hardware has been in the Antelope Valley since 1979, and was started by Joe Karl in Rosamond. Art Landsgaard purchased the store from Joe Karl soon after and owned it for about 20 years before selling to his son, Eric, in 2003. Since then, we opened the Mojave location in 2009, and the Boron location in 2017.
We have always seen Tehachapi as a great place to have a hardware store, so when Pioneer True Value came up for sale we jumped at the opportunity. Tehachapi has many locally owned businesses that bring a level of care and service to the community that is not seen at big box stores, and we at Karl’s Hardware intend to keep that practice going. On top of our customer-first attitude, we will also be bringing in a deep assortment of products. Our plumbing department will be expanded so that we are a one-stop shop for everything from well fittings, septic and water storage tanks, all the way down to whatever you need to fix your kitchen sink. The electrical section will have more wire and fittings than most hardware stores. As for power tools, Milwaukee is our go-to for top-of-the-line tools and we plan to bring in a variety of them to help get your job done more efficiently. We are also going to carry quality Outdoor Power Equipment options like STIHL chainsaws, line trimmers and blowers as well as DR trimmer mowers, to just name a few. Another key department we are adding is ammo, so now you won’t have to drive all the way to our Rosamond store for some ammunition. We plan on adding additional products and departments as we learn more about our new community; we are always looking to improve our business to best suit our customer’s needs.
Store services are a key component of Karl’s Hardware. Stating that, we are going to continue some of the same services Pioneer provided, like bulk sand and rock delivery, screen and window repair, pipe cutting, key cutting and paint matching services. To go along with those, we are going to now offer re-keying locks and we are also looking to add a rental center/service shop in the future. Once again, the main service we will provide is customer service. Whether that is helping to make an idea come to life, giving experienced insight on a product or project, or ordering something special that you couldn’t find anywhere else, Karl’s Hardware is your store. We look forward to opening up and meeting all of you soon!
