Congratulations to Dan and Christine Desmond at Papa's House restaurant in Stallion Springs: on Sunday, March 20, they sold their 50,000th pizza. It was sold to Stallion Springs residents Aruna and Kevin Ryder.
Papa's House was established in November 2018 after renovating the original Papa's Pizza location. They still offer the same family-friendly atmosphere and a new variety of delicious food options. They are not affiliated with the previous owners of Papa's Pizza & Grill.
Papa's House is a family-owned restaurant specializing in pizza, burgers, "sammies," salads and pasta. Their pastrami, burgers, meatballs, dough and sauces are made from scratch. They offer gluten free dough options on their small and medium pizzas. They also offer veggie patty substitutions on all of their burgers.
The food is great and the staff does an excellent job creating a friendly, excellent experience.
The Trails
The Board of Directors approved a letter of intent to allow the Cesar Chavez and Environmental Corps to submit a grant application to the California State Parks and Recreational Trails Program on behalf of the Stallion Springs Community Services District. The grant would provide Stallion Trails with three years of fully-funded manpower, maps and signage throughout.
The purpose of the grant is to rehabilitate and establish a complete trail loop within the community. The SSCSD maintains that these trails will remain open to the public for the purpose of non-motorized recreation except in situations involving safety or maintenance.
Police Report
Chief Gary Crowell filed a report of statistics for February. The Department issued 11 citations, had 109 reports, 110 calls for service, completed 29 officer, initiated investigations, 37 field interviews and two medical assists. There were six vacation house checks and the department assisted other law enforcement agencies nine times.

Cleanup day
Cleanup day has been rescheduled for April 9 due to a snow storm on the original date and potential snow storm on the second date. We can all hope for no snow on this new date.
Summer's Coming
The board approved a new pool cover and reel at a cost not to exceed $15,000. It was determined that a thermal pool cover would be best. It would keep out the leaves and dirt requiring less maintenance and keep the pool warmer overnight requiring less heating.
Stallion Springs Board of Directors
The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the CSD Boardroom. The next meeting is scheduled for April 19.
