Big book sale at the library, April 23

Friends of the Tehachapi Library

March 19, 2022

The Tehachapi Friends of the Library is planning their first big book sale of 2022 on Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This will primarily be one of the popular “Bag Sale” events.

For these books, you get a bag for $3 and then can fill it up with the books from the Bag Sale area. These books will include an abundance of fiction and non-fiction books for you to choose from. There will also be a selection of some individually priced vintage and specialty books to buy.

Funds raised from this sale and the Continuing Sale (downstairs at the library) are used by the Tehachapi Friends of the Library to support the library and its programming. In particular, the Summer Reading Program is coming up and the Friends of the Library are already looking at providing financial assistance for children’s events during the Summer. So when you buy books from one of the Friends of the Library sales, the money goes back to the community in the form of programming and other activities at our library.

If you have books you’d like to donate, come by when the library is open (Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and drop them off. You’re welcome to bring in two boxes or bags of books per day. The Friends of the Library volunteers work before the library opens Tuesday through Friday to sort and clean the books brought in. These books go into either the Continuing Book Sale downstairs or are set aside to provide books for the “Big Sales” like the one planned for April 23.
