The Tehachapi Arts center is excited to announce the opening of Alari Design Jewelry Studio, the only full-service jewelry store in town. No more driving to Bakersfield or Lancaster to get that ring resized, repair that setting or change your watch battery. Michael Alari will design and manufacture your very own, one-of-a-kind, custom piece of jewelry. Why pay mall prices when you can pay Tehachapi prices?

March artist of the month: Chainsaw Coop

As you can imagine from his name he is a chainsaw sculptor. Cooper Davidson is a local artist known not only for his yard art but smaller pieces suitable for desktop display.

Aside from his sculptures he produces signs and furniture. He's only here for a limited time. So come in soon to see his rustic creations.

You can reach Coop at (661) 622-9090.

Classes

We are happy to present our new Saturday Night Improve Class to be held on the second Saturday of each month. That falls on March 12. Here's your chance to learn the basics in a friendly environment.

On March 19 Leila's Glass Fusion Class part 2 will be held for the slightly more experienced glass artists.

Our monthly Paint Night will be held on Saturday, March 19. Have a sip of wine and be in creative company.

In our Copper Bookmark Class, you will make a beautiful and useful place marker for yourself or a cherished gift for a friend. Cathy Clark will be glad to show you how on Saturday, March 26.

The Loop Digital Network

Don't forget our Children's Art Class every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Each week is a new lesson. Individual sessions can be arranged. Call to make an appointment.

A reminder, all our classes have fees and some fill up quickly. It doesn't hurt to sign up early.

We're just beginning, there's more to come as new venders and teachers join the center.

The Tehachapi Arts Center is a cooperative continuing the heritage of Mel White's Treasure Trove, providing a venue for local artisans to gather, learn, teach and, of course, display and sell their art. We are located at 116 E. Tehachapi Blvd. (across the street from the water tower). Open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Phone (661) 822-6794.
