Healthy Hippie Trading Co. has the products to help cleanse your atmosphere for special occasions, and for your every day life.

Winter is giving way to warmer weather which means spring and summer weddings are on their way. All the planning and emotions can make even the most even-keeled person anxious and jittery, especially on the big day itself, as well as during the gatherings beforehand. The Healthy Hippie Trading Co. wants to remind you to take the time to create a calming energy before and during the events with the use of sage and incense.

"Incense is a form of aromatherapy," explains owner, Sarah Rose. "Incense sticks get their fragrance from essential oils which have been shown to have mood changing properties. Incense burning is also used in many religions including Catholicism, Buddhism and Hinduism, but its use is more than just spiritual." Healthy Hippie Trading Co. carries over a dozen kinds of incense, all of which are the Satya brand, which is considered one of the premier brands of incense.

Before burning incense, Sarah recommends clearing the space or room with the use of sage and palo santo wood. "We carry white sage, blue or desert sage, and black sage with white sage being the most commonly used to prepare for ceremonies or teachings," she explains. "White sage is used to remove negative energy from people, places and objects. I always recommend that people burn white sage to clear an area of negative energy and then follow up by burning palo santo sticks, also known as 'holy wood.' Palo Santo clears energy but it also has the property of attracting good fortune. I say, 'clear out the bad and bring in the good!' What better time and place to do that than in the bridal chamber as the bride gets ready to walk down the isle and the same goes for the groom."

Healthy Hippie Trading Co. is located at 20418 Brian Way, Unit 2, Tehachapi, across the street from Valley Oaks Charter school. They are open 7 days a week, Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
