Tehachapi School Board Update

December 18, 2021

At their annual organizational meeting held in conjunction with the December School Board meeting, the Tehachapi Unified School Disctrict School Board selected a new slate of officers.

Board President Jeff Kermode announced that he would be stepping down as president because of other commitments, but he will remain on the board. By a unanimous vote, Nancy Weinstein, current Board Vice President, was selected as the new Board President, Joe Wallek was selected Vice President, Jackie Wood retained her position as Board Clerk and Tracey Kelly will be a Representative to the Kern County Committee. Congratulations to the new TUSD board.

During the regular board meeting, Superintendent Stacey Larson-Everson presented President Kermode with a Certificate of Recognition from Assemblyman Vince Fong. As the board meeting was online-only due to the snowstorm, a physical presentation was not possible at the time.

The Board of Tehachapi Unified School District meets at 5 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at District Offices located at 300 S. Robinson St. Meetings are currently in person and virtual.
