Well, friends and neighbors, as I write this, we are getting some much needed moisture in the form of snow. Let’s hope it keeps up for awhile.
The CSD has been busy with leaks (seven) and road maintenance during the past month, as well as guardrail replacements on Deertrail Dr. It was budgeted for over $75,000 but was completed for under $65,000.
The holiday season is here with a multitude of events to enjoy. But, especially, consider the New Year’s Eve party at the Oak Tree Country Club on December 31 with a live band, Bobby-O, dancing, and heavy hors d’oeuvres. The doors open at 6 p.m. Hors d’oeuvre will be served from 6 to 8 p.m., and there will be dancing from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., plus a champagne toast to celebrate having made it through another pandemic year. The cost is $30 per ticket.
Speaking of dancing, if you want to dance without a partner, consider line dancing on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the Oak Tree Country Club. It’s great fun, great exercise and good for the brain.
The gun range has reopened and the new hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. The range is subject to closures on certain holidays and adverse weather conditions. Please call the Whiting Center ahead of time to confirm whether it is open.
This is the time of year that homeowners decorate for the holidays. Bear Valley offers a map for residents to enjoy the sites. Contact the Whiting Center if you want to be on the map, or if you want a guide to the great displays.

Bear Valley Springs is a private gated community in which the residents pay an annual association amenities fee. To visit, a non-member or non-resident must arrange with a friend or family member in the community for a guest pass that would permit them to engage in the activities. Guest passes will be checked.
