Construction has begun at the south end of Robinson St. on 33 new homes. The project, which was originally approved in 2003, has new owners. They were informed by Tehachapi's planning department that the original approval was due to expire this year. To avoid having to resubmit construction plans with updated building codes, construction would have to begin by the end of 2021.

A new Starbucks center is currently under construction at the corner of Capital Hills Parkway (Mill Street) and Voyager Drive. The new center is planned to have a Starbucks with a large seating area and a drive-thru with space for a possible restaurant or other retail.
