Stockdale Tile and Flooring Center carries many types of carpet.

Among Stockdale Tile and Flooring Center's extensive carpet choices are EverStrand™ and EverStrand Soft Appeal. These carpets are unique in that they are constructed utilizing the highest-grade plastic from post-consumer recycled beverage bottles which are spun into premium polyester fiber using Mohawk Industries' patented Continuum™ process. Additionally, the EasyClean™ stain and soil protection shields the carpet from spills and makes it simple to clean, protection that helps customers keep their carpet looking newer, longer. Because EverStrand™ and EverStrand Soft Appeal are made from 100% recycled content, they are also the world's most sustainable carpets. EverStrand Soft Appeal is made with ForeverFresh, an innovative odor-reducing technology that keeps your home smelling fresh. It combines up to 100% recycled PET fiber, odor-reducing technology and enhanced softness for superior comfort and performance. EverStrand styles feature high definition color thanks to Mohawk's ColorMax technology. ColorMax offers color blending that creates beautifully balanced, natural colorations with superior color saturation and enhanced color clarity.

The Continuum™ process is a sustainable design innovation in the flooring industry that creates silky soft, durable carpet out of plastic bottle waste at Mohawk's Summerville, Georgia plant. Since the implementation of the Continuum™ process in 2008, Mohawk Industries is now the largest recycler of plastic bottles in North America. Currently, Mohawk has recycled more than 40 billion plastic bottles, equivalent to two billion pounds of plastic, and in 2019 alone, recycled seven billion plastic bottles. By using this process, Mohawk has offset nearly 20 percent of recycled PET bottles in the U.S. by creating 936 million square feet of the sustainable carpet, all contributing to a cleaner planet. Each square yard of carpet contains an average of 63 reclaimed plastic bottles.

PET is short for Polyethylene Terephthalate which is a clear, strong and lightweight plastic belonging to the polyester family. It is typically called "polyester" when used for fibers or fabrics, and "PET" or "PET Resin" when used for bottles, jars, containers and packaging applications.

Outlining the process in simple terms, Continuum™ has six steps for production of the high quality, long lasting sustainable carpeting. First, plastic PET bottles are collected from landfills, oceans and waste processing systems. The bottles are thoroughly cleaned and then crushed into pellets. The pellets are converted into fibers and then spun into yarn. Mohawk Industries then manufactures the recycled yarn into EverStrand™ and EverStrand Soft Appeal carpet. The Continuum™ process also strengthens the fiber and removes dirt-attracting residue with a multi-step purification system, keeping the Mohawk products brighter and cleaner longer.
