You don't often hear about people celebrating their 160th birthday. Well, Connie and Dan Shobe will be doing just that next week. Born four days apart (she's older, a cougar!) they have a tradition of combining their birthday celebrations.

Their marriage, now in its 57th year, also celebrates their good fortune in finding each other that 12th day of September, 1960, in Mr. Jewett's Business Law Class, Pasadena City College, their two wonderful daughters and a lifetime of God's abundant blessings.

For this birthday, Dan is building a new house for them in Bear Valley Springs, doing a lot of the work himself.

The picture shows them as Scottish royalty during a European trip in 2018. Dan is the "bald-headed stooge" (his term) on the left.
