A life that loved, a life that blessed, a humble, kind, caring, generous soul....

Glen was born in Phoenix, Arizona during the Great Depression. He was the third of six children. The family was abandoned by the father. As soon as he was old enough Glen got up early every morning to try to find any kind of work. Love and desire to care for his family motivated him all of his life. He loved and served his Country in the Merchant Marines from 1943-1946. He was assigned to active combat status in the Pacific Theatre.

After the war, Glen trained to be a plumber. In the early 1950s, he partnered with William Paul Boles and started B&B Plumbing. The business thrived in Bakersfield and Kern County for almost 50 years.

Shortly after the war, Glen also met and married Jean Chester. Together they had six children. Along the way they loved and took in other children who needed a little help to go forward.

Glen loved the mountains. He hunted, fished and just enjoyed the beauty of nature. He built a cabin in the nearby mountains in which to vacation. In 1968 he moved his family to Tehachapi and built a home on acreage there. He also loved flying. He piloted a small plane that he often used to go back and forth to work in Bakersfield.

Glen loved looking at the night sky through a telescope. He was intrigued with the greatness of the universe and its mysteries. He loved God and devoted much of his life to seeking truth. He served in many charitable organizations including the Knights of Columbus and Teen Challenge. He loved people and treated all with dignity. He never shied away from opportunities to bless and help others.

Glen went through hard times also. Three of his children and his wife, Jeannie, passed on before him. At age 62 he met Sherry Sullivan. They were married almost 30 years at his passing. Together they enjoyed 11 grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren – still counting. Glen kept a heart of faith in God and gratitude for all of life's blessings. He constantly gave of himself, his time and his resources. He was there for everyone no matter what he was going through. We have missed his love, wisdom and company and will continue to.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Glen on Saturday, October 16 at 11 a.m. A short service and luncheon following will be at Slice of Life, 48771 W. Valley Blvd., Tehachapi.
