Pat Doody.

When computer consultant George Thomas V retired, he decided to sell his home in Coopersburg, Pennsylvania and move closer to his daughter who lives in Tehachapi. Coopersburg is near Allentown and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where George was born. He arrived in Tehachapi in August and as soon as his Pennsylvania house sells, he will be buying a home here.

A Pennsylvania resident all of his life, George joined the Army after high school and spent two years in Germany. He attended Penn State University studying metallurgy. He said he changed his major several times including Business Administration and finally to Mathematics. During his consulting career he was Systems Manager for American Olean Tile and also worked with Naval Aviation Supply and Air Products & Chemicals, companies that supplied the space and hospital industries. At one time he served on the Planning Commission in Coopersburg and was a member of the Lions Club.

George said he was always taking classes. He even studied photography at the New York Institute of Photography for a while. He didn't marry until he was 34 years old. He has two children. His son lives in Seattle and his daughter works in the agriculture industry in Tehachapi.

George says he has yet to discover new hobbies now that he is living in Tehachapi. He said he used to have a shop at home but he will not be able to have one here. He is looking forward to becoming involved with the community and enjoying his new surroundings.
