New owner of the golf course, Andri Karapetian.

The new owner of the golf course, Andri Karapetian, appeared at the August Board of Directors meeting and provided a status report on the progress of revitalizing the course. He indicated he is working with both Kern County and the CSD to bring back the 18-hole course as quickly as possible and even better than it was. Currently there is a bit of a slowdown while awaiting the County to reissue a conditional use permit for the property. That could take as long as three months. Water and sewerage are also issues that are being addressed. It will take about nine months and eight to nine million dollars to get the course operational once the permits are issued.

He said the course, when completed, should command about $125 per round. Perks will be available for local residents.

The clubhouse was a great place to hang out and have a good meal in its day and he expects to bring that back and extend the outdoor seating. The bar will stay as part of the renovations.

One of the current issues is liability. There has been damage to some of the buildings, spray painting of some rocks and other damage to the property. People are also using the land as walking and horse trails. The property has been posted and should not be entered for any reason. Should you need to enter the property you can get a waiver to do so by contacting Jeff Bodnar, the onsite representative, at Jeff@allstargroup.org. People should be respectful of the property for their own safety.
