On July 28 the TVRPD Board of Directors held a Special Meeting to award the bid for the construction and installation of the Modular Steel Skate park located at West Park. We are pleased to announce the bid was awarded to American Ramp Company, a decorated company with a footprint of incredible skateparks all around the United States.

For those unaware, this project is made possible by available non-competitive grant funds through the State of California's Parks and Water Bond Act of 2018 (Proposition 68) Per Capita Program. This means that these funds are available to access by submitting a qualifying project for the funding, which this project does. In addition, this project would also not be possible without partnership with the City of Tehachapi. They graciously agreed to combine their share of eligible grant funds with the Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District's. Furthermore, recognition and a special thank you goes to them.

Also, a special thank you to the skatepark committee for their efforts in helping the District securing additional funds from community donations and sponsorships. These funds will go towards ancillary features and improvements to the park including benches, fencing, a drinking fountain, shade and a new park entrance sign.

Regarding time line, we are targeting a late November or early December completion date!

If anyone would like to donate to the skatepark project or would like more information, please call the TVRPD office (661) 822-3228 or visit http://www.tvprd.org.
