The Tehachapi Police Department and the Tehachapi Police Foundation are once again partnering to host National Night Out at Philip Marx Central Park on Tuesday, Aug. 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Community groups will have booths with information and activities for the entire family. Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District will close out the evening with Movies in the Park beginning at 8 p.m. with a showing of “Raya and the Last Dragon.”

National Night Out is an annual crime prevention event and community-building campaign that promotes police/community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

National Night Out is designed to:

• Heighten crime and drug awareness.

• Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts.

• Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnership.

• Send a message to criminals that our neighborhoods are organized, united and looking out for one another.

Nonprofit and community organizations who wish to apply to participate in the event should contact Kim Nixon with the Tehachapi Police Foundation, [email protected], (661) 619-5123, or Lindsay Booth at the Tehachapi Police Department, [email protected], (661) 822-2222.
