Celebrate First Friday at the Treasure Trove

Tehachapi Treasure Trove

June 19, 2021

First Fridays are back! Now that downtown has reopened we are once again able to offer our First Friday event to celebrate local art and artists. We’ll be open 5 to 8 p.m. on July 2 for your shopping pleasure.

We are so pleased to be able to open again for First Fridays and look forward to seeing our regulars for more laughter and camaraderie. As usual we’ll be offering beverages and snacks and a place and a time to reconnect with old friends.

We’re also excited that classes have started back up at the Treasure Trove and are continuing through July.

Exploring Art for Kids (with Judith Campanaro) continues on Tuesday afternoons, 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. Cost is $15 per session plus some materials. Pre-registration is required, and you can call the store anytime to sign up for one class or several classes. Each class stands alone so you don’t need to worry about missing one or two.

Wednesday mornings are now open studio times, cost is $5 per session. Bring what you are working on and enjoy working alongside other artists.

Fiber Arts open studio with Karen Stevens continues on Thursday afternoons, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $5 per session. A non-structured workshop, Karen provides great tips and guidance on whatever fiber art project you need help with.

Judith Campanaro is also offering two continuing classes on Saturdays: Art Journaling on Saturday mornings from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Mixed Media on Saturday afternoons from 2 to 4 p.m. Cost for each class is $20 and includes most materials. Each class will feature a different theme/spread/technique.

Macrame Plant Hangers with Cathy Clark will be a class on Sunday, July 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $25 per person. We’ll provide the jute and you bring whatever beads or embellishments you want. Beads are available for purchase at the store.

Other classes and events are being scheduled for later this summer, including water color painting, wine and paint nite, and writing workshops, plus some great flash sales! More will be added as we can get them into the schedule.

Tehachapi Treasure Trove is located at 116 E. Tehachapi Blvd. (across the street from the water tower in historic downtown Tehachapi). To respect our teachers’ time and effort, we do ask that participants pre-register for each class and you can do that by calling (661) 822-6794.

Tehachapi Treasure Trove is where art happens, and we are always ready to help you discover your inner artist!
