The Stallion Springs CSD held its annual Color Run on May 22. There were 80 runners that did the just over 3-mile run and got covered with powdered colored chalk. Tyler Simpson was first to complete the course in 21 minutes followed by Seth Liebman and Dalton Bellah. The first woman to complete the course was Maria Sanchez in 32 minutes. The first family across the line was the Camp, Buesler team. Some runners took as long as two hours to run or walk the course.
Home Owners Scholarships
The Stallion Springs Home Owners Association gave out $5,000 in scholarships to six qualified high school graduates from our community on Sunday, May 23.
Elizabeth Partridge $1,000; Ella Moomey $1,000; Samantha Downs $1,000; Cora Sweeney $1,000; Michael Davis $500; Lauren Follis $500. Good luck graduates.
The awards were given out at Man-O-War park where the HOA recently donated bleachers to the new and upcoming baseball park in the amount of $3,800. The money for the bleachers came from sales of Stallion Springs hoodies and t-shirts over the past four years.
Congratulations to the recipients.
Library
The Stallion Springs Library and newly formed art group, "The Stallion Springs Artist Exchange," is having a combined art show and book sale, the last Saturdays of June, July and August at the Stallion Springs Library from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Please stop by and have a cookie and coffee or iced tea.
The library also has a children's story hour the third Friday of the month at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Questions, call Noemi Tkacz at (661) 858-6193.
The Stallion Springs Library is located at 20030 Pellisier Road. It is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday from Noon to 3 p.m. If you would like to volunteer contact Emma at (661) 822-1385. Come check it out!!
Police Report
Police Chief Gary Crowell filed a report of statistics for March 2021. The Department had 15 arrests, issued 12 citations, had 101 reports, 88 calls for service, completed 32 officer initiated investigations, 29 field interviews, and four medical assists. There were also four vehicle impounds, nine vacation house checks and the department assisted other law enforcement agencies 14 times.
If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911 and specify to the dispatcher that you live in Stallion Springs. The Stallion Springs Police Department is dispatched through the Kern County Sheriff's office.
For non-life-threatening issues, please call (661) 861-3110. You may contact them by email or using the contact information provided on the CSD website http://www.stallionspringscsd.com. If you wish to make an appointment to speak with an officer contact the CSD at (661) 822-3268. Appointments maybe canceled at any time due to limited police staffing.
The Stallion Springs Police Department encourages residents and guests to sign up for local Nixle public notification alerts and to create a Smart911 profile. These safety communication systems are free for you to sign up.
Parks and Recreation
Plans for summer are regular open gym hour; a week-long day camp for kids age 7-12, where the Police Department will also come out for safety and activities; a summer camp at Man-O War Park and some movie nights.

Stallion Springs Board of Directors
The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m., normally in the CSD boardroom. The next meeting will be held June 15 at the Community Center or Zoom, subject to the restrictions created by the Coronavirus.
