What's Up in Stallion Springs?

May 22, 2021

Kern County Fire has set June 1 as the Hazard Reduction Clearance deadline. The Stallion Springs CSD is asking that residents create defensible space around your home and your neighbor’s homes by clearing brush and weeds.

If we all work together and do our part we can protect our community from possible fire damage. Go to the Kern County Fire website at http://www.kerncountyfire.org/en and follow the hazard reduction guidelines for your home. If you have questions you can contact our local Fire Station at (661) 822-3980. All properties must be compliant by June 1. There is an example of fire defensible space on Comanche Point Road between Longhorn Lane and Stallion Springs Drive.

If you are the owner of an empty lot within the CSD weed abatement area be on the lookout for a letter regarding lot mowing. You can have the lot mowed or the CSD can mow it for you. Failure to respond to the letter could result in charges for mowing services.

Trail maintenance is scheduled for the first Saturday of each month. Get on the email list and volunteer and keep up to date on the latest information about the trails. Hiking and spending time outdoors is good for you. There are many family friendly, easy and intermediate trails, but for the trails to be usable they need regular maintenance to keep them safe. The next trail maintenance date is June 5.

Library

The Stallion Springs Library is located at 20030 Pellisier Road. It is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday from Noon to 3 p.m. If you would like to volunteer contact Emma at (661) 822-1385.
