Prayer Vigil after Maundy Thursday Service

One of our best Holy Week traditions is our annual Prayer Vigil. Each year, after our Maundy Thursday Eucharist and the Stripping of the Altar, we hold a vigil through the entire night, through the morning, until noon on Good Friday. Typically, two people at a time sign up for one to two hours at a time to be in the sanctuary for prayer. This is a perfect chance to renew your intimacy with Jesus. Being alone with Him, spending time in His Word, reading a good devotional book or writing in a prayer journal are all great ways to make time in the Vigil meaningful. The sign-up for the Prayer Vigil will be in the back of the church after the Palm Sunday Eucharist or call the Church at (661) 822-3607 to add your name to the list. Fr. Wes will cover any shift not filled in by other volunteers.

Lenten Soup Suppers are continuing!

We continue to have our Lenten Soup Suppers every Wednesday through Holy Week. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and we have a terrific video series called “The Chosen”, one of the best portrayals yet of the life and ministry of Jesus and the Apostles. On March 31 (Holy Week) we will do a double-feature and start at 6 p.m. instead of our usual time of 6:30 p.m. This video project is completely crowd-funded and it is getting RAVE reviews, even from the secular press! For those who cannot attend, look up “The Chosen” on YouTube; it’s free. This is a great time enrich our faith and enjoy good fellowship in Lent. Bring your appetite and bring a friend!
