Teresa Sasnett was elected president of the Board of Directors at the February Board meeting. Sasnett is a 14-year resident of Stallion. She feels one of the best parts of being a resident of Stallion is the friendship felt from the moment you drive in. People wave, smile and the atmosphere is welcoming.

"I always strive to keep up with everything going on in the community, it is clear to me that the Board has the best interest of the community at heart, I wish to serve my neighbors by being part of this Board," Sasnett said.

Board actions

The Board approved a 1.5 percent cost of living increase for the staff, subject to the General Manager determining that the Fiscal Year 2022 budget can sustain the increase.

Weed Abatement

Each year the District provides a mowing program within designated areas of Stallion. The owners of unimproved properties in certain designated areas have the option of mowing their lots or having the District mow their lots to comply with section 61100, part 5 Section 14875 of the Health and Safety Code. Notification by lot owners mowing their own property must be submitted to the District by May 14.

Summer jobs

Stallion Springs Parks and Recreation will be hiring for Seasonal Certified Lifeguards. Applicants must have a Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate. If you are interested in a summer job, please call the CSD or email stallionparksandrec@gmail.com for more information! Guards are needed in order to open the pool for the community this summer. Check the CSD Facebook pages for updates on available course dates, times, and location or check redcross.org for courses. The class is very limited.

Police report

Police Chief Gary Crowell filed a report of statistics for January 2021. The Department had five arrests, issued eight citations, had 94 reports, 82 calls for service, completed 23 officer- initiated investigations, 36 field interviews and two medical assists. There were four vacation house checks and the Department assisted other law enforcement agencies 12 times.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the meeting may be canceled again. Notifications will be sent advising of the status prior to the meeting. If the meeting is changed to a teleconference, instructions will be sent out as to how to join the call. Check the billboard at the entrance to Stallion for further information.

Stallion Springs Board of Directors

The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. normally in the CSD Boardroom. The next meeting will be held March 16 at 6 p.m. in the CSD Board room, at the Community Center or on Zoom subject to the restrictions created by the Coronavirus.
