Honorable Discharge

J.C. was a long time resident of Tehachapi, California, and a member of American Legion Post 221. He is survived by his wife Cynthia of 21 years; brother Oscar; sisters Diane and Alene; children Natasha, Matthew, James, Suzi; grandchildren Charles, James, Jessica, Christopher, Joshua, Carlton; cousin Leutian Angelo; nieces, nephews and more.

J.C. loved to attend events at Marx Park, Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Go Native Day and the American Legion Christmas Party. After the Vietnam War he worked in the field of Indian Health, excelled as a University Instructor and Counselor in Great Falls, Montana. He wrote a book published on the topic of utilizing culture in substance abuse counseling and treatment at OU. He completed an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree and certifications in BSHS/CCDC. A military service was held for the immediate family in Tehachapi. An additional service will be held in Montana late spring for additional family and friends.
