Howl, Screech and Pumpkin Week scheduled for Oct. 24-25, 28-31 at CALM

October 24, 2020

Halloween is not canceled at the California Living Museum (CALM). This year, the 37-year-old zoo will host Howl, Screech and Pumpkin Week, October 24 and 25 and October 28 to 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Normal CALM admission applies: Adults – $10; Seniors (60+) – $7; Children (3-12) – $6; Children 2 and under – free; and, of course, CALM members are always free.

While this year’s event will be a bit different than CALM’s annual Boo at the Zoo, which normally takes place in October, ghosts and goblins of all ages are still encouraged to dress in costume and visit the spooktacularly-decorated grounds. Ghoulishly-wonderful goodie bags, chock full of candy and toys, will be handed out for those in attendance, up to 12 years old.

Due to COVID-19, Halloween-themed games won’t be played and everyone in attendance will be asked to keep social distancing in mind.

CALM officials plan for Boo at the Zoo to return next year.

CALM is located at 10500 Alfred Harrell Hwy. (between Lake Ming and Hart Park), just 15 minutes from downtown Bakersfield. For information, call (661) 872-2256 or visit our Facebook page.
