The grand opening for the new Stallion Springs Library was held on Saturday, Aug. 29 at their new building located at 20030 Pellisier Rd. Librarian Emma Holm cut the ribbon and welcomed everyone to the new facility.

General Manager, Vanessa Stevens, thanked Emma, Kathryn Sanders and the countless volunteers who spent so much time and effort moving books and shelves and installing flooring for the new library. She also thanked: Larry and Char Heasley who moved and built shelving and donated several useful items; Jason Markmiller who installed new flooring; Stallion Springs Church and Kenny Harrison for the generous donations to make the flooring a possibility; P-Dubs Grille & Bar; Stallion Springs General Store, Dona and Kelly Napier, Pam and Don Stipech, Kerry Jensen, Cindy Cummings, Tia Landsberger, Sarah and Dan Gildea, Patti Teague, Susan Mueller, Meryl Zimmerman, Kathy Williams, Daniel Smith, Kay Cordes, Barbara Colmer, Missy Smith, Brandy and her son Patrick, Cindy Cummings and Kim Partridge of A Little Slice of Heaven Bakery for their donations of baked goodies.

A special thank you to David Aranda for this brilliant idea and for always supporting our efforts and keeping Stallion great. Thank you all for caring and for taking the time out of your day to help us make the new library a possibility.

Normal Library hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m.

Police Report

If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911 and specify to the dispatcher that you live in Stallion Springs. The Stallion Springs Police Department is dispatched through the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

For non-life-threatening issues, please call (661) 861-3110. You may contact us by email or using the contact information provided on the CSD website http://www.stallionspringscsd.com. If you wish to make an appointment to speak with an Officer contact the CSD at (661) 822-3268. Appointments maybe canceled at any time due to limited police staffing.

Neighborhood watch

Meetings are on the fourth Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. Next meeting is on Sept. 22, 2020 Corral Room, 27850 Stallion Springs Dr. ALL are welcome. Bring your friends and neighbors. Meet our SSPD and get the latest updates on how to prevent crime in our neighborhood.

Animal Control

California law states that dogs must be on a leash. Please follow this rule. Stallion Springs Police will be working with Kern County Animal Control in regards to ticketing violators.

District emergencies

For district emergencies during off hours, such as a main line water break, you may call (661) 822-3268. Leave a message with the problem, your name and contact number and an on-call district staff will be paged. Please visit our website: http://www.stallionspringscsd.com to keep informed.

Stallion Springs Board of Directors

The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. normally in the CSD boardroom. The meeting on Sept. 15, 2020 will be held in the CSD boardroom or at the Community Center subject to the restrictions created by the Coronavirus Pandemic.
