Congratulations to the 'Tehachapi Mountains'

From our Supervisor

Zack Scrivner

To Whom it May Concern,

As the County Supervisor representing the Tehachapi region, I wholeheartedly support the proposed American Viticulture Area of "Tehachapi Mountains" Docket No. TTB-2020-0006.

I believe that the proposed rules of this AVA, the boundaries, and the name "Tehachapi Mountains" appropriately reflect the intent of the vintners within the proposed area and will be properly presented to consumers once placed on the bottles.

I achnowledge the work the Tehachapi Win Grower's Commission and the Greater Tehachapi Economic Development Council has undertaken in the last several years to help complete this task, and as an elected leader, I thoroughly appreciate their efforts, along with the efforts of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau to establish this AVA. I know that once approved, this AVA will be both a sense of community pride and an economic tool to help increase tourism for our regional vineyards, wineries and tasting rooms.

I would like to thank all those involved with the research and proposed rulemaking for this AVA, and once again, would like to express my full support for the included regulations and the name "Tehachapi Mountains."
