Closed for the season

Based on the COVID-19 mandates and guidelines, the pool will remain closed for this season. The CSD is looking for some fun ideas for the community that adheres to the guidelines and will help to lift the spirits of the community. The CSD is hoping to resume normal park operations as soon as possible.

Clean up days

Clean up days will be will be held Thursday, Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 14 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The new location will be at the Community Center. Please enter following the same traffic flow that was used for the trash tags.

Have bulky items? Bring them to Community Center parking lot for easy disposal and recycling.

There is a bulky item pick-up for Senior and Disabled Adults on Aug. 12. Please call the CSD by Aug. 11 to be placed on the list.

The following will not be accepted: Household hazardous waste, construction waste, asphalt, concrete, tires, batteries, fluorescent tubes or light bulbs.

New Board Member appointed

Teresa Sasnett has been appointed to fill the position created by the resignation of Director Fred Rowan. Sasnett is a 14-year resident of Stallion. She feels one of the best parts of being a resident of Stallion is the comradery felt from the moment you drive in. People wave, smile and the atmosphere is welcoming. Sasnett said, "I always strive to keep up with everything going on in the community. It is clear to me that the board has the best interest of the community at heart. I wish to serve my neighbors by being part of this board."

Sesnett will complete the balance of this year's term, ending in November, and will be up for election for the additional two years of this term.

CERT-CSD Memo of Understanding

The CSD owns the SSCERT building behind the Community Center. SSCERT will lease the building at a cost of $60 per year. The lease includes electrical costs, however, an increase in that cost is possible if electrical becomes a significant expense. SSCSD will insure the building and SSCERT will insure the contents. All equipment, materials and supplies will be insured by SSCERT.

The Stallion Springs Community Service District and The Community Emergency District have agreed to accept the granting of a utility trailer for the use of the Stallion Springs Police Department in partnership with SSCERT to enhance emergency preparation and response.

Police Report

Police Chief Gary Crowell filed a report of statistics for June 2020. The department had three arrests, issued four citations, had 106 reports, 118 calls for service, completed 32 officer initiated investigations, 39 field interviews and one medical assist. There were 12 vacation house checks, and the department assisted other law enforcement agencies 16 times.

Stallion Springs Board of Directors

The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. normally in the CSD Boardroom. The next meeting will be held Aug. 18 in the CSD Board room or at the Community Center subject to the restrictions created by COVID-19.
