As our routines change ... again!

Now that we are having our lives change from total quarantine lockdown to little ventures out as some businesses open and some of us even go back to work, we at Have a Heart Humane Society have a few concerns. Our pets have been used to our being home and around for close to three-and-a-half months. Now while this may have irritated your cats (haha), your dogs have LOVED it! They may have a little trouble understanding or adjusting to your new hours away from home.
Try to keep giving your pets that little bit of extra attention when you get home, or an extra walk before you leave for work — and a treat from the treat jar would never be refused! If the kids are still home since school is out for summer vacation, remind them that it is still their responsibility to keep the pets feeling like part of the household, and everybody needs exercise! A walk or a good ball toss session will keep all of them off the couch and away from too many video games!
We at Rescued Treasures are back open on a modified schedule — the shop is open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., until further notice. Our closed days will be used to clean and sanitize, and to organize new items for sale. We will continue to take all of your generous donations on those days, and Saturday will continue to be our adoption day for dogs and cats, so come in and you might meet your new best friend!
We ask that when you are in the shop, you wear your mask, and we will also, except when we are behind the plexiglass. We all need to keep one another safe and healthy, as we all may have vulnerable people at home.
Have you noticed that there have been a lot of pets missing and found? Social media is busy trying to reunite owners with their pets. With Animal Control not available for months, people have really stepped up to help these critters. We always try to help, and we have a chip scanner here at Rescued Treasures. If you find a lost dog or cat, bring them by the shop and we will scan for a chip. If the information is correct and current, we will get pet and owner reunited! We, as an organization, have given chip scanners to the Bear Valley Police Department, Stallion Springs PD and Tehachapi PD, so you don’t have to find a Veterinarian’s office open. Any of the police departments can scan the animal for you.
