March 14, 2020

Representatives from Antelope Valley Board of Trade (AVBOT) and the Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance (GAVEA) announced today their merger and the creation of the Antelope Valley Economic Development & Growth Enterprise (AV EDGE).

The formal announcement was made at the 48th annual AVBOT Business Outlook Conference with the unveiling of AV EDGE’s new logo.

“The blending of the two legacy organizations, in collaboration with our local public institutions, will create a formidable partnership for the attraction and retention of business throughout the High Desert,” AVBOT Board President Bret Banks said.

GAVEA is currently a leading force in economic development, attracting businesses to the Greater Antelope Valley. AVBOT’s expertise lies in providing a strong legislative voice for its members. Both organizations noticed a duplication of other efforts and agreed that a new blended organization will create a stronger, more vibrant and effective entity.

The AVBOT has served the Antelope Valley since 1957, with the goal to maintain and promote diverse business and industry, quality infrastructures and a strong legislative voice for the benefit of its members and the Greater Antelope Valley.

“Combining the work and reputation of GAVEA and AVBOT will bring strength to what is offered to our community for attracting and bringing new business to the Antelope Valley,” GAVEA Board President Veronica Knudson said. “We are looking forward to AVEDGE supporting the cities’ efforts to grow business and to advocate for the Antelope Valley far into the future.”
