All Kern libraries closed until April 13

Beginning Tuesday, March 17, all Kern County libraries will be closed due to concerns related to the spread of Coronavirus.

“The Kern County Library, at the direction of the Kern County Administrative Office and Kern County Department of Public Health, in an effort to address the recommendations made by Governor Gavin Newsom and the State of California for COVID-19, will be making significant changes to Library operations. For the safety of the families we serve, all Kern County Library branches will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 17 through Monday, April 13, 2020. All scheduled meetings, events, programs, or gatherings are cancelled until further notice,” according to an official statement from Kern County Library.

The library also provided the following information:

Library materials: Due dates will be extended and items on hold will continue to be held until we reopen.

eBooks, audiobooks, eMusic & eMovies: Our Hoopla and OverDrive collections are always open. Access them and more at http://www.kerncountylibrary.org/elibrary.

Online resources: Utilize our online resources with your Kern Library card. For access to all our digital resources, visit http://www.kerncountylibrary.org/research. (These include reference centers, foreign language resources, genealogy, health information, newspapers and more.)
