March 14, 2020

Throughout the entire month of March, Feghali Foods – through its participating Little Caesars franchise stores in Kern County – is giving their customers an opportunity to donate $1 or more to benefit the American Red Cross and its lifesaving mission in coordination with the March is Red Cross Month campaign.

March is Red Cross Month has been recognized in the United States since Theodore Roosevelt was president. This month is centered around highlighting what the Red Cross does, and gives information on ways to help the community and give back through volunteer work. In Kern County, the Red Cross assisted over 200 families affected by disaster and installed over 1,500 essential working smoke alarms in homes last year. Through its strong network of volunteers, donors and partners, the Red Cross can turn compassion into action so all people impacted by disaster across the country and around the world receive care, shelter and hope.

This mission is what inspired Johnny Baklini, chief operations officer of Feghali Foods, to initiate this partnership between the Red Cross and his franchise group.

“We understand how critical the mission of the Red Cross is to our community,” Baklini said. “This partnership allows us to help our customers support those in our community who receive the essential care and hope from the Red Cross and its volunteers.”

“We are very excited for this partnership.” Eddie Zamora, executive director of the Kern County Red Cross said. “To have partners in the community like Johnny and Feghali Foods be so willing and ready to help, it really makes the difference for the families we serve who have been impacted by disaster.”
