Edwards Air Force Base changes commanders -- Col. Matthew W. Higer, Brig. Gen (Select), assumed command of the 412th Test Wing on Feb. 5 in a ceremony at Edwards AFB. Former commander Brig. Gen. E. John Teichert has been reassigned to Baghdad, where

he is now the Defense Attache and Senior Defense Official to the country of Iraq. He will be the senior military adviser to the U.S. Ambassador. Higer is a former Air Force Test Pilot School Commandant at Edwards. There are more than 8,000 personnel in the Wing, engaged in the developmental test and evaluation of the F-35, KC-46, F-22, F-16, B-1, B-2, B-52, C-17, C-130, KC-135, Global Hawk, joint remotely piloted aircraft and emerging technologies.

Great shows--The Los Angeles County Air Show will be Mar. 26-27, 2020 at Fox Field in Lancaster. The Edwards Air Force Base Air show is set for Oct. 10-11, 2020.

Engineer award -- The American Society of Civil Engineers named Tehachapi City Engineer Jay Schlosser Civil Engineer of the Year in Public Sector for the state of California.
