There was a large turnout on Feb. 13 for the "Brand" Opening and ribbon cutting for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Associated Real Estate in Tehachapi.

Tehachapi REALTORS® Josh and DeVerie Riley, owners of Associated Real Estate have proudly announced that through a new partnership, they are bringing the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices brand to Tehachapi and Kern County. Associated is partnering with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Troth REALTORS® of the Antelope Valley to be sister offices.

According to the Rileys, the decision to join Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices wasn't made lightly. Their families came from California City with DeVerie's grandmother Pat Gordon beginning Associated there. Her grandfather, T. V. Gordon built much of California City. Josh's grandfather, James Riley, was the first mayor of California City. In 2005 Josh and DeVerie moved back to California City, after working in the bay area, and took over the family office there. They moved to Tehachapi in 2006, building the company into what it is today.

About a year ago the Rileys learned about Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and after researching the company and the services they offer, decided that it was time to go bigger. They were impressed by the quality of services offered for brokers and their agents in the areas of professional training, back office support and marketing, not to mention the addition of a Fortune 500 name. "It has the best tools for independent agents to make them more successful," said Riley. In addition, the affiliation with Troth, a business dating back to 1958 that has been with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices since 2013, seemed the perfect combination.

Says Riley, "After 36 years as a family owned, independent real estate brokerage, DeVerie and I are extremely excited to partner with the Troths to bring the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices brand to Tehachapi and Kern County. We believe that our shared vision and teamwork will help us to continue to fulfill our mission of promoting home ownership with the highest level of customer service in our community. We are proud to become the ambassadors of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices brand."

After a one day switchover, the Rileys held a reveal party for their employees complete with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices swag. Everyone was excited by the new changes. The Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce and the City of Tehachapi joined Josh and DeVerie Riley on Feb. 13 for their "Brand" Opening and ribbon cutting.
