USAF Singing Sergeants to appear at AVC Performing Arts Theatre, Feb. 13

February 1, 2020

The United States Air Force Singing Sergeants from Washington, D.C., will perform at the Antelope Valley College Performing Arts Theatre, as part of a six-day community relations tour to California. The Feb. 13 concert is free and open to the public. The tour also includes performances at Edwards Air Force Base, Disneyland, and other venues in Orange and San Diego counties.

The U.S. Air Force Singing Sergeants are one of the six performing ensembles within the United States Air Force Band, the premier musical organization of the U.S. Air Force. Stationed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Air Force Band honors those who have served, inspires American citizens to heightened patriotism and service, and positively connects with the global community on behalf of the U.S. Air Force and the United States of America.

Senior Master Sgt. Benjamin Park, a bass vocalist, superintendent of the Singing Sergeants and a native of San Diego, Calif., is very excited to return to the area during the upcoming tour. “Living and working in our nation’s capital, I rarely get the opportunity to come back to my home state of California as a representative of the United States Air Force. But when I do come home, my friends, family and all those who supported my musical endeavors remind me of how proud they are to see me serve my country and do what I do.”

Free tickets for the Antelope Valley College concert are available on the AVC Performing Arts Theatre website, tickets.avc.edu. Ticketed patrons are asked to be in the theatre no later than 6:45 p.m. for the 7 p.m. performance. At that time, any empty seats will be made available to stand-by patrons who do not have tickets.

The theatre is located on the south side of the Antelope Valley College Lancaster campus, 3041 W. Ave. K. Box office hours are noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and two hours prior to each performance.

For more information, patrons may contact the box office at (661) 722-6580.
