What's Up in Stallion Springs?

Maintenance crews kept the roads clear during the storm.

The Stallion Springs maintenance crews were kept busy during the Christmas week snow storm. The crew spent the day Thursday and well into Friday keeping the roads in Stallion clear. Thanks to the crews for their fine work.

Clean up Day

Clean-up Day is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Stallion Springs CSD parking lot. If you have big bulky items, plan on bringing them for easy disposal or recycling. Bulky item pick up for seniors and disabled adults is available. Call the CSD by Wednesday, Jan. 15 to be placed on the pick-up list.

Household hazardous waste, construction waste, asphalt, concrete, tires, alkaline batteries, other batteries, fluorescent tubes or light bulbs are not accepted at this event.

Household hazardous waste is accepted at the Kern County Disposal Site, 12001 Tehachapi Blvd. the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon. Accepted items at this location include batteries, motor oil, light bulbs, sharps, pool chemicals, auto products, cleaning products, etc.

Parks and Recreation

Craft Night is scheduled for Jan. 17. This month you will have a choice of a "Love" or "Home" wooden heart sign. You must preregister at the CSD and specify which sign you will be making when signing up. The cost is $18 per person. The class is limited to 15, so reserve your spot today. Dance Classes begin on Jan. 13. Classes are open to children and adults for the six-week session. Contact the CSD for times and costs.

Monthly Exercise Passes are available to residents for $30 and non-residents for $40. Get the monthly pass and you can take any or all exercise classes or try a single class for just $5 for residents or $7 for non-residents.

Free Pickleball in the gymnasium Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m. All levels are welcome, come join in the fun.


CERT received a check for $1,500 for support of the 2019 GranFondo. Thanks to each of you who participated in this annual Tehachapi event.

Sandy Young will be out of town for the next few months and Dave Burt has agreed to carry on the leadership role in her absence. 

She will return to Stallion in the spring and looks forward to hearing of the amazing accomplishments of our SSCERT Team.  She knows that Dave will keep our team moving forward and asks that you give him your support. The Stallion Springs CERT team is preparing a CERT Basic Training Class for Spring 2020. The class will be held in March at the Community Center. CERT is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety and doing the greatest good for the greatest number of people. Police Report

If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911. The Stallion Springs Police Department is dispatched through the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

For non-life-threatening issues, please call (661) 861-3110. You may contact us by email or using the contact information provided on the CSD website, If you wish to make an appointment to speak with an officer, contact the CSD at (661) 822-3268. Appointments maybe canceled at any time due to limited police staffing.

General Manager

General Manager, David Aranda, said, "Changes are in store for Stallion Springs in the New Year. After the holidays, be on the lookout for a letter from the CSD regarding your solid waste and how the CSD has limited options in handling it. The letter will include a detailed explanation. We will be asking for you to fill out a survey and return a response. Based on the survey, there will be a town hall meeting to make decisions regarding solid waste."

Stallion Springs Board of Directors

The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the CSD Board room. The next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 21.
