The Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society presents the third concert of their 2019-2020 concert series with a concert on Sunday, Nov. 3, with chamber music performed by Minetti Quartett members: Maria Ehmer, violin, Anna Knopp, violin, Milan Milojicic, viola, and Leonhard Roczek, cello. The concert will include music by Joseph Haydn, String Quartet in G Minor, Opus 74, No. 3 "Rider" Hob.III:74; Alban Berg, String Quartet, Opus 3; and Johannes Brahms, String Quartet in A Minor, Opus 51, No. 2.
The concert will take place at the Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church, 633 W. Las Flores Ave., Ridgecrest, Calif., at 4 p.m. Tickets ($30/general, $25/senior, and $5/students and active duty military) are available at Red Rock Books, the Maturango Museum and at the door. Since being nominated for the "Rising Stars" award by the European Concert Hall Organization in 2008/09, the Minetti Quartett, comprised of Austrian musicians all living in Vienna, has performed many times in renowned venues in Vienna, Berlin, Cologne, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Stockholm, Brussels, London and other locations. Invitations to chamber music festivals have taken the quartet to North, Central and South America, Australia, Japan and China. The Minetti Quartett is a winner of many international chamber music competitions.
Since 2009 Hänssler Classic has released four highly acclaimed CD recordings (Haydn, Mendelssohn, Beethoven and Schubert) by the ensemble. The quartet has undertaken teaching projects in Finland, Mexico, Spain, Sweden and at American and Austrian universities.
