What's Up in Stallion Springs?

The Stallion Springs CERT team received a check for $2,500 from Cheers for Charity on Sept. 5, for their work at the annual Cheers for Charity event. CERT provided traffic control, parking, vendor check-in, VIP check-in and assisted with logistics during the event. Cheers started in 2014 and has expanded each year with 800 people attending this year at Airport Park.

Non-Profit Foundation

The members of the new Support Stallion Springs Foundation elected a Board of Directors at their first meeting on Aug. 29. Berry Leslie was elected President; Leslie Wellman, Vice President; Susan Muller, Treasurer and Vanessa Stevens as Secretary. The new board approved opening a checking account for the foundation at Union Bank. The board also noted the importance of getting the word out about the foundation and getting the community involved.

The purpose of the foundation is to provide support for public park facilities, recreation programs and public safety programs, which benefit the residents of Stallion Springs and the Greater Tehachapi area.

If you wish to make an appointment to speak with an officer contact the CSD at (661) 822-3268. Appointments maybe canceled at any time due to limited police staffing.

Oktoberfest

The 15th annual Oktoberfest will be on Saturday, Oct. 5 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Stallion Springs Community Center in Stallion Springs.

Fun for the whole family, food, beer, wine, gifts and kid friendly activities. No pets allowed, with the exception of trained service animals.

Parks and Recreation

Stallion Springs Fall Dance Program will begin Monday, Sept. 16. This is a six-week program. For more information and to sign up contact the CSD.

Get in the spirit of the season at Craft Night on Sept. 18. Make fun and decorative no-sew fabric pumpkins while enjoying some apple cider. Each person will make two to three pumpkins. Sign up at the CSD during regular business hours. Deadline for sign up is three days in advance, class size is limited.

Free pickle ball in the Gymnasium Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m. All levels are welcome, come join in the fun.

Stallion Springs Board of Directors

The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. in the CSD Board Room.
