The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held a "mini" Project Linus service event on Saturday, Aug. 24. Project Linus is a national non-profit organization providing security to children through new handmade blankets. Over 30 people met that morning, bringing in generous donations of fleece fabric which was used to make 35 cozy children's blankets, including hand-tied fleece blankets and hand-sewn quilts. All of the blankets will be donated to local agencies. The blankets will be given to children, ages 0-18, in desperate situations and in need of a little comfort.
