Meet the author at the Tehachapi Museum – Book signing on June 22

June 22, 2019

On Saturday, June 22, the Tehachapi Heritage League will host author Marilyn Meredith for a book signing. She is the author of over 40 published books, including two mystery series, two family historical sagas, a romance with a touch of the supernatural, other fiction titles and a popular cookbook. She lives in the foothill community of Springville with her husband and other members of her family. She’s been writing nearly her whole life, but didn’t get published until she was a grandmother.

Spirit Wind is the latest in the Deputy Tempe Crabtree series and is set in Tehachapi. Marilyn has been fascinated by Tehachapi, the Tehachapi Loop, and wind turbines for many years. She’s made several trips to the area, and decided her character, Tempe, also should make a visit. While Marilyn did research for the book, she discovered more intriguing facts about Tehachapi that she included in the plot for Spirit Wind.

The book’s Deputy Tempe Crabtree is a Native American resident deputy in a town much like Springville. Because of Marilyn’s Indian heritage, she has an affinity for native legends and often is in touch with the spirit world.

The book signing will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Tehachapi Museum, 310 S. Green St., in Tehachapi. Refreshments will be served. Marilyn Meredith’s book, Spirit Wind, will be available for purchase for $14, including tax.
