Hot air balloons took flight in the early mornings, filling the skies with vibrant colors at the 2018 Bear Valley Springs Independence Day Celebration.

July 4 starts off four days of the Independence Day Celebration in Bear Valley Springs, a gated community in the Greater Tehachapi Area. The four days will be Thursday, July 4; Friday, July 5; Saturday, July 6; and Sunday, July 7. The 28th Annual Independence Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. on the 4th. Hot air balloon rides are scheduled all four days at 6:30 a.m. The Firecracker 5K and 10K Run will be on Saturday, July 6. Craft and activity booths, food and commercial booths will be available at Cub Lake on July 4, 5 and 6. Other activities include a moonlight movie on Friday evening, July 5, a car show on Saturday, July 6 and the 6th Annual Freedom Boat Parade and Paddle races on Friday, July 5.
