Flag Retirement Ceremony, June 14

Tehachapi’s annual flag retirement ceremony will be held on Friday, June 14 at 5 p.m. at Coy Burnett Stadium, 711 Anita Dr. in Tehachapi. This year is the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy during WWII. In commemoration of this event, it has been confirmed by event organizer Chuck Reuter that there will be a fly-over (weather permitting) of either an F15 or F18 fighter. There will also be demonstrations by the 82nd Airborne Reenactment Team and Kern Fire. The guest speaker will be military history author Craig Luther.
