Standing behind Charles White, Tehachapi Heritage League president, are Janice Armstrong (left) and Anita Pritchard who assisted and arranged a presentation on the history of Tehachapi.

Charles White, president of Tehachapi Heritage League, spoke recently to members and friends of the American Association of University Women. He used a series of photographs to show the transition of Tehachapi through the years.

He began with a picture of a group of Kawaiisu Indians who lived here before the railroad was built and concluded with a picture of the new hospital. The pictures were selected from the Tehachapi Museum's extensive collection.

In appreciation for the presentation, AAUW made a donation to the Museum from the Community Outreach portion of its budget. White appreciated the gift because the Heritage League is dependent on donations to maintain the Museum and the Errea House.

Both the Museum, 310 S. Green St. and the Errea House, 311 S. Green St. are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Several of the AAUW members serve as docents.
