Steve and Dawn in the store.

First Friday in March will be a special thank you to Dawn Callahan and Steve Headrick for all that they done to make Tehachapi Treasure Trove the success it is. They will be leaving us sometime in the next few months and their services and smiles will surely be missed by all of us.

Dawn and Steve joined Susanna Monette and Mel White as owner/partners of the Treasure Trove in May of 2014, however, Dawn had been a displaying jewelry artist in the store since the early days of the shop, while Steve had been volunteering as needed. Stepping up when a third partner left the store management team, together the husband and wife happily signed up for more responsibility and helped keep things running smoothly through that early transition.

Over the last few years, their contributions have been many. Steve has become a metalsmith and also designs jewelry. Both Dawn and Steve teach jewelry classes at the Treasure Trove, and Dawns skills with jewelry design have grown exponentially. Other contributions include building maintenance and offering fabric art supplies as well as scrapbooking supplies. Steve has also taken on the job of hosting the ever-popular Eat Drink and Paint Merrily events (once a month paint and wine nights).

First Friday will be celebrated at Tehachapi Treasure Trove on March 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. With our 50-plus vendors and artists, things are always changing at Tehachapi Treasure Trove, and any First Friday is an excellent time to come in and check out our uncommonly eclectic and unusually unique stuff, created by your many friends and neighbors right here in Tehachapi.

Tehachapi Treasure Trove is located at 116 E. Tehachapi Blvd., right across the street from the water tower in Railroad Park. Hours are daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Remember we also carry an extensive line of art and craft supplies and artist services along with, yarn, music and a jewelry studio.
