What's Up in Stallion Springs?

February 16, 2019

The Stallion Springs General Store is back in full operation after just over three months of upgrades to the gasoline storage tanks and pumps. The old single wall tanks were replaced with new steel lined fiberglass tanks to meet current state regulations. A small grant from the state assisted with the cost of the replacement tanks. After tank replacement, the old black top parking lot was removed and replaced with a new concrete lot with drainage upgrades.

Chevron assisted with upgrades to the pump area lighting, changing it to new LED lamps for additional safety. Still to come is additional area lighting and landscaping along the road. Owner, Even Maida would like to, ”thank the local residents for their patience and continued use of the other store facilities during the long renovations.”

Chilly Dip time

The ninth annual Chilly Dip is returning on March 2 at 11 a.m. Jumpers can sign up at the CSD until Feb. 25 for $15. Late signups will be $18. Sign up, jump in, get warm.

Brush & Blush

Join us for a fun night of stress-free fun. Learn a non-intimidating way to create wooden masterpieces for your homes, offices, gifts, etc. You will end the night with a wood sign that you will be proud of saying, “I created that!” It’s the same fun and creative experience as our easel events, except now you’re working with wood to design your own sign from scratch. You design it all! Once you choose your sign, you will choose your background color and your paint colors. And the best part? We are using stencils! Our stencils are adhesive, so there is no tracing and no freehand painting. Trust us, you cannot mess this up! We have 69 colors of high-quality paint to choose from to complete your inspired design. This is guaranteed wall-worthy and makes the perfect gift for friends and family. As with all of our events, we will walk you step-by-step through this creative process. All supplies are provided. Event held March 22 in the Community Center at 7 p.m.
