The Tehachapi Railroad Depot and Museum is the starting location for this year's Valentine's Wine and Chocolate Walk. Glasses and tasting maps will be handed out and locally produced wine will be available for tasting. Pictured pouring are Tehachapi City Council Member Phil Smith and his wife at the 2018 Valentine Wine and Chocolate Walk.

Celebrate Valentines this year by joining Main Street Tehachapi for the 12th Annual Chocolate and Wine Walk in Downtown Tehachapi. The event, held this year on Feb. 9 is always a lot of fun for romantic couples, groups of friends and those who come alone. There are plenty of friendly faces in the crowds that go from business to business along the downtown streets to sample tasty wines, paired with delicious chocolates, hand-made by local resident Linda Pettitt of Linda's Cakes and Things.

Not only an opportunity to socialize and find new places to shop in Downtown Tehachapi, the event offers an opportunity to sample wines from local Vineyards, even those that have not opened their own tasting rooms yet. Dorner Family Vineyard, Triassic Vineyard, The Tehachapi Wine and Cattle Company, Rancho de los Viajeros Vineyard and Stray Leaves Vineyard will all be pouring their wines, paired with chocolates. Other host businesses will have wine from other vineyards.

Tickets are available at The Loop newspaper, Bliss Interiors, The Dressing Room, Dahlia's Boutique and the Tehachapi Visitors Center, only cash and checks accepted. Tickets are available by credit card online at http://www.mainstreettehachapi.org/ by clicking on the link to purchase tickets. Tickets are $40 each in advance and $45 on the day of the event. This is a rain or shine event. The year it snowed, everyone showed up and enjoyed the festive weather.

All ticket holders will begin at the Tehachapi Depot on Tehachapi Blvd. at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9. They will pick up a souvenir glass with this year's logo on it, along with 10 tasting tickets, which can be redeemed at any of the hosting businesses and at the Depot where the local vineyards will be pouring.

Sponsors include the five local vineyards, The Loop newspaper, Mercury Graphics, Linda's Cakes and Things, Tehachapi Visitors Center, Linda and Stacy @ RE/MAX, A & M Home Inspections and Big Papa's Restaurant, which will be hosting an after party in the saloon at the restaurant on Tehachapi Blvd.

Be sure to visit the two newest hosts of the wine walk in west downtown, Alligator Rose and Mill Street Kitchen. For more information on the Valentines Chocolate and Wine Walk, please leave a message for Main Street at (661) 822-6519 and your call will be returned.
