Dancer "Eddie" of the Kern River Valley Indian Council dances a traditional Indian dance. His dance-wear represents a life time of achievements in the Indian culture. "Each feather has to be earned and represents something good I did in my life as defined in my native culture" stated Eddie.

Tehachapi welcomed its sixth Go Native event at Philip Marx Central Park on Sept. 1.

This unique event celebrates indigenous culture in California through demonstrations, food, art, music and dance. Native artists shared their talents with guests and helped them make their own crafts, like weaved baskets, necklaces, tule ducks and more.
