Snow Orthodontics proposes new facilities

Snow Orthodontics, represented by Craig White, presented the architectural design and site plan for Snow's new offices to the Tehachapi Planning Commission at their July 9 meeting. The project is to be located on the Tucker Rd. lot located between Remax/Canine Creek and King of Siam/M&M Sports.
The 13,576-square-foot facility will include storefront space and a section containing several 125-square-foot salon suites for such services as hair, nails and massage. The project, which actually faces the back of the property, is planned to include 49 parking spaces, landscaping and possibly reciprocal access from adjacent properties.
Neighbors located directly behind the project on Las Colinas attended the meeting to express concerns regarding the location of a dumpster, lighting and the height and location of trees. White agreed to change the location of the dumpster and make other changes to meet their concerns. Developmental Services Director Jay Schlosser said that as the project is, in his opinion, an infill development project, it comes under the heading of "categorical exemption" for a CEQA report.
The Planning Commission voted 3-0 to allow the project to move forward. Two members of the Planning Commission were missing since their terms ended on June 30.
