Community Notification: Stallion Springs Road Construction Project

Road construction throughout the Stallion Springs community began Wednesday, July 18. The project is scheduled to be in effect for approximately 45 days. Flaggers will be controlling the effected roadways during working hours. Drivers should expect delays. We remind all drivers to be cautious and courteous to road crews during this time. Please allow for plenty of time to travel to your destination.

Stallion Springs Community "Team up to Clean Up"

Stallion Springs Community "Team Up to Clean Up" Day sponsored by the Stallion Springs Police Department and Neighborhood Watch was held Saturday, July 14. The team met at Horsethief Park to get Stallion Springs ready for summer. The team came prepared with paint brushes, scrapers, paint cleaning solvents, pick-up grabbers, brooms, shovels and other tools to clean things up. 

Police Report

During the month of June the Stallion Springs Police Department had six arrests, issued three citations, 74 calls for service and completed 32 want and warrant checks. There were also 64 reports, 75 officer initiated investigations, 19 field interviews and four medical assists. The CSU completed 31 vacation house checks and three school bus watches.

If you have a life threatening emergency call 911. The Stallion Springs Police Department is dispatched through the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

If you wish to make an appointment to speak with an officer contact the CSD at (661) 822-3268. Appointments may be canceled at any time due to limited police staffing.

Golf Course

Dan Pacheco, a potential buyer for the Golf Course, held a community meeting at the Stallion Spring's Community Church to get a feel for the interest in the course. Over 175 residents attended. Pacheco indicated he is in negotiations to purchase the course and planned to make a formal offer in July. He plans to keep it a golf course and add things like a miniature golf course, arcade and other entertainment venues. He will not be building a hotel as proposed by the current owner. If the deal goes through he plans to have holes one through nine open by the end of the year. More to come.

CERT

Mark your calendar for these upcoming SSCERT deployments. Saturday, Aug. 11, Cheers to Charity; Saturday, Sept. 15, Gran Fondo Bike Ride; Saturday, Oct. 6, Stallion Springs OktoberFest. 

August Monthly Training will be a jaunt down Sheep's Trail, the back road out of Stallion toward Arvin.  This road is one that we may need to utilize in an evacuation of our community.  Saturday, Aug. 25 in the morning, more details soon.

The Pool

Summer's here and the pool is open. Open swim hours are Monday – Friday 1:30 to 6 p.m. and weekends 11 to 7 p.m. Residents can get swim passes at the CSD office during regular business hours Monday thru Friday.

In addition to open swim hours water aerobics are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday and adult lap swims Monday and Thursday.

Swim lessons are available for three groups, Guppies: those with little or no experience, Goldfish: having basic water skills and want to learn more and Dolphins: swimmers looking for more advanced techniques.

Summer Open Gym Hours

Get out of the house this summer and join the fun. The gym will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m.

National Night Out

National Night out 2018 will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7. Local businesses and first responders will be there to meet and greet the community. The event is sponsored by the Stallion Springs Police Department and Neighborhood Watch. Local businesses will have booths providing community safety information, kids and adult games and drawings for prizes. A movie will be provided for the kids, along with a bounce house. Food and beverages will be available.

Worship Fest

Members of the Community Church will be attending Worship Fest to be held on Saturday, Aug. 18 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. in Centennial Plaza in Tehachapi. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Stallion Springs Board of Directors

The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. in the CSD Board Room.
