Buck Owens' Pontiac.

Just 40 minutes away from Tehachapi in Bakersfield, we have a world class music venue – Buck Owens' Crystal Palace – where you will not only find fantastic country music, but rock and roll, too. The night I was there world-class blues band "Tracy Peoples Project" performed a tribute to Janis Joplin.

It was billed as, "Pearl - A Janis Joplin Tribute" with Tracy Peoples covering and dressed as Janis Joplin. The band included Bill Baize, Tim Stonelake, Gary Rink, Rafael S. Yambao, Gilbert Subia, John Hollins and Roger D. Bailey.

It was a free concert which they have one or two times a month. The food is fantastic and for a good price. All the servers and workers are friendly and helpful and I find the music there inspiring.

Also, they have Buck's car, a Pontiac, on the bar to check out. This Pontiac first was owned by Elvis Presley, a good friend of Buck's. As the story goes, it was lost in a poker game. I would get there early to see all of Buck's guitars and items he collected over the years displayed in his museum.

Great family fun and something for everyone at Buck Owens' Crystal Palace, located at 2800 Buck Owens Blvd., in Bakersfield.
